The objective of the Welsh Alliance is to inform and keep Welsh dance teachers up-to-date with everything that is going on in the dancing world. Therefore, all dance schools can work together in harmony for the good of Welsh Dancing.
What We Do
Training Days For Professionals
The Welsh Alliance run training days and workshops for professional teachers in a number of different genres. Freestyle, Ballroom and Latin training days are held throughout the year.
Amateur Training Days
The Welsh Alliance has organised an amateur wing to our association. This wing enables young adults and children to be able to attend workshops and training days. The lectures and workshops at those training days are given by some of the top professionals in the dance industry, this gives the children opportunity to experience training of the highest level.
Competitions For Amateurs
The Welsh Alliance run two Amateur Latin Championships a year. The South Wales Open Latin Championship and the South Wales Closed Latin American Championship. The Open Championship, anyone in the world is welcome to come and compete. The Closed Championship gives the amateur couples in Wales an opportunity to get a ranking position within their own country.
Formation Championship
The Welsh Alliance runs the Welsh Open Formation Championships. Formation in Wales is very strong and very popular. This Championship has proved to be extremely successful over the last few years. And as a result, the event is now held over two days, with a high number of competitive teams from all over the UK, The Welsh Open Formation Championships is one of the largest formation events taking place within the UK.
